Low Kidneys. :(

Hey everyone. Just went for a rescan as they couldn’t see spine & kidneys last time and they’ve noticed my baby’s kidneys are slightly lower than they should be. She told me she’s not worried as kidneys are working and are of normal size but she’s passed it on to the consultant who will decide whether I need another scan so he can have a look or whether it’s fine & nothing more needs doing. He’s going to call me tomorrow if he wants me to come in. She told me not to worry and that she's not concerned about it but idk if she's just saying that to ease my mind :(
Anyone else had anything like this? Everything I’ve googled mentions one kidney being lower/higher than the other or the kidneys not working/ being enlarged etc but she only said that they’re slightly low. Going absolutely mad with worry 😢

This probably won't help you but I was recently told that my kidneys are lower than normal during a scan. I'm 37 and never knew anything about it. Have had 3 kids (including twins) and I'm perfectly healthy. I hope they clarify things for you soon.

Similarly as previous poster, I only found out in my late twenties that I have kidneys in unusual place, both on the same side, together, pretty low. Later through years, depending on sonographer, I am told that 2 or 3 kidneys in total, with either 2 or 3 working. Both my kids have normally positioned 2 kidneys. As long as they work, it doesn't really matter where they are and what shape.
During my pregnancy anomaly scan the doctor (I was scanned by a specialist for a different reason) said, it was lucky noone knew anything when I was a child, and therefore my parents avoided anxiety and many medical appointments...
Good luck, I hope the consultant be able to reassure you.
