NT 5.1

I've posted in the pregnancy board as I didn't realise this existed until earlier but we had our second attempt at a dating scan yesterday. They put us 6 days behind at 13+1 and the NT was 5.1
They've done the bloods to get the risk but said it will be really high and we've gone for the NIPT.
I could really do with some positive stories right now :(

At my first scan the NT Fluid was measuring 6.8. I spent hours on google and seemed to find lots of stories mainly with sad outcomes. I'm now 38 weeks pregnant and the fluid didn't change, but I have had a CVS, additional scans and a heart scan and all have come back OK so far. There's a chance baby might have a rare genetic disorder when she's born, we'll just have to wait and see, but we've been told we can be cautiously optimistic.

Somehow I missed your reply @BlessedMamma
Thank you.
I have my fingers crossed all is well with your little one.

I'm 18w today and we saw the consultant.
NIPT came back clear. Scans looking good.
Got to have a detailed heart scan...
We're just not sure whether to have the cvs or amnio :(
They were going to do it today and couldnt which I was relieved about as I'm so scared of miscarrying.
I just don't know what to think.

@treaclepie19 Did you get your bloods back yet? Risk factor given?

For me NT is 3.5 @ 11wk5days.

Bloods came back as 1 in 5000 for edwards/patau and 1 in 95 for downs. I decided to wait, have the 16 week scan and then see what happens from that...possibly amnio.

I'm still scared, but figured my chance of miscarriage for cvs is higher than the chance of downs. It's limbo time for sure.

Treaclepie19 · 12/11/2018 22:50

@momoa80 we had the NIPT and that shows highly unlikely for downs, Edwards or pateau.
The Normal blood risk was 1/5 for downs.
Your results sound promising :)

Our problem is they're struggling to do the amnio with my anterior placenta so even now they're looking at the cvs.
I don't know what to think.

@Treaclepie19...did you get the scan at 16 weeks? Did everything look ok?

Fingers and toes crossed for us both Star

Treaclepie19 · 13/11/2018 07:24

We've had scans at 13+1, 14, 15 and 1i so far.
Everything has looked fine. The consultant says that's good but that it doesn't mean nothing is wrong. They still havent managed to have a good look at the heart and chromosomal issues can often have no obvious problems.
I just really don't want the amnio but I think we need to.

Really hope all is well...keep me updated xo

We had our amnio results. Baby isn't well at all. If he survived he would have awful physical and mental problems so we have to have a termination Friday.

@treaclepie19 I’m so so sorry to hear this. I was really hoping for a happy ending for you. Sending you love and strength for Friday. Do ring ARC if you can, they’ve been great for me and the ARC forum, where people can share and support, has been a godsend xxx

Treaclepie19 · 11/12/2018 21:51

Thank you both.
@Ceallaigh I phoned them earlier so they're going to sort out sending me info and adding me to the forum.
It's completely taken the rug from under me to be honest.
I'd started to think all would be okay.
I just don't know how to cope and I have to because it's best for our littlest boy.
