My screening results came back as 1:185 for downs whereas with my first, it was in the thousands. I know this is below the cut-off for the NHS (and others would be happy with those results having had higher risks) but it seems quite close to the threshold. It seems like in other countries or private medicine here, the cut-off for further investigation is higher.
If I’d have just had the letter back saying below nhs threshold, I don’t think I’d be worrying but seeing the numbers has made me concerned. I’m debating getting the harmony test done privately. It is expensive and we’re just going round in circles trying to debate if it is worth it. At what odds would people just be happy to accept the risk? I’ve been trying to work that out myself and haven’t got a clue. I was lucky last time in that I never had to give the results a second thought.
