Hi

I had my 12 week scan yesterday and instead of the excitement of confirming a due date and starting to tell everyone the happy news we got the results that baby has a 7mm fold, 1:13 chance of downs, 1:4 of edwards and 1:8 of pataus. Also fluid around baby which is bad sign.

Has anyone else experienced such dire results? Everything I've read shows high risk of one, and high being 1:80 or something but low risk in the others.

I've had cvs and now anxiously awaiting the results.

Am devastated as this is a very much wAnted pregnancy

Xx

Hand hold for you. How long will need to wait for your results?

I don't want to upset you - this is my experience. I got a reading of 7.4mm at 12 week scan a few years ago. Unfortunately a MMC was discovered when I attended for my CVS just under a week later.

Tests revealed baby girl had T21.

All you can do is hope for the best and prepare for the worst if that makes sense. Worrying cannot change the outcome - but quite natural.

I had an increased risk for future pregnancies but after nt testing went down to 1 in 21000 so a good long term outcome for me.

I understand it's all that fills your mind. Be kind to yourself and big hugs Thanks
