1:24 chance of downs syndrome waiting for NIPT results

So yesterday I had a phone call from the womens hospital telling me my baby is high risk of having downs syndrome, the ratio they gave me was 1:24. I now have a two week wait for my NIPT results, this will be my rainbow baby and I'm only 26 years old. If it does have downs syndrome I will still love it so much and be grateful for my baby but I'm still so nervous. Has anyone else been through this?

I had 1 in 5 chance of Down's and I got the all clear. 1 in 24 means less than 5% chance of baby having Down's, so try not to worry at this stage. The wait for results is nerve-wracking though, I know! Thinking of you xx

I had 1:19 chance from CUBS then NIPT came back very low risk and CVS confirmed no problem. How was your scan? It was the pregnancy hormones and my age (38) that threw me into high risk though scan was fine (1.6 nuchal fold). Keep us updated but I'm sure you will be fine! Those combined tests are cr*p!!! X

My scan was 3.2. Apparently anything above 3.5 is high. So I'm in the normal range but on the higher side.

PS the results are usually quicker, I'd give them a call if you've not heard in the next 8 or 9 days. I did that and they had the resultsSmile

I have a child with Downs if you have any questions.

Hi guys. My results have came back low risk for everything, so happy as they are 99% accurate for picking up any chromosome abnormality

I'm 30 yrs old. Nt scan went well and baby looked all fine with 1.3 MM NT, However, double marker test showed an increased risk for Downs 1:111. Repeated the blood work again after a week and the risk increased to 1:75.im literally worried, This is our 1st pregnancy after 7 months of trying and 1 miscarriage in Jan 2018. Had given blood for NIPT and waiting for results. My papp-a was way low 0.35 Corr MOM and beta HCG was too high 4.36 Corr MOM in 1st blood work. In 2nd blood work Papp-a was 0.36 Corr MOM and beta HCG 10.32 Corr MOM. Is increased risk because of these values, Did any one ended up with healthy pregnancy having these values. Please let me know.

@Mharipriya28 yes I had low Papp A and high HCG but like you a normal NT. I had two panorama tests (both great) and a cvs which confirmed no issues :) have you heard back yet? Xx
