First midwife appointment

Hi, I've just rung up to book my first appointment and been told that they only do a drop in on a Thursday morning. However, I work Thursdays and to get time off I'd have to tell my employer why (which I really don't want to do yet!) Can I go anywhere else other than my gp practice for this appointment? Thanks!

Our midwives work across an area rather than just with one GP so for example they’d do clinic at surgery 1 on Mondays, surgery 2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays and community hospital clinic on Saturdays. It would be worth contacting the local midwives office to see if you can be seen in one of the other clinics if your area runs similarly.

My midwife works in one gp on a Monday, another on a Tuesday etc. It might be worth seeing if they will give you a number for the main midwife office in your area and discussing it with them.

Can you not tell your employee you have an appt at the GP's? That way you don't have to tell and you're not technically lying either Grin xx
