Early scan results - sac but no pole & heartbeat

Hi 👋🏼 , it's been 8 weeks since the first day of my last period , I worked it out on my cycle app that I'm 6 weeks pregnant as of yesterday (from conception) . I had my first internal scan yesterday and the nurse spent quite a long time looking for the embryo, she advised that I needed to empty my bladder which i did then she advised she had located the sac , which was about 6 weeks growth but no pole and no heartbeat . How she described it to me was this was abnormal and I probably have had a missed miscarriage ...I was told to come back in a week to make sure for another scan. I'm now really worried about this 🙈.

Has anyone experienced this before and located a heartbeat the following week? Or do I start to prepare myself for the worst ? Xx

Hi, this happened to me last August. Unfortunately by the time I was due to return to hospital I had begun bleeding. But, I have heard of others returning and everything has been fine with baby. It could be just to early. 🍀

There won't be a heart beat at 6 weeks but I think the should be a pole. Sorry.

I found out I was pregnant on Friday 23rd of March- roughly 4/5 weeks at the time. As I had a missed miscarriage about 8 weeks before I was so anxious and went to see my Dr that Monday. He managed to get me a scan for the Tuesday. I had the scan but they couldn't see anything. They took my bloods and asked me to come back 48hours later (so on the Thursday) they did another scan and bloods. This time they saw a tiny sac but nothing in it and my bloods had doubled. They then asked me to come back 1 week later. Of course I was a nervous wreck for that whole week just thinking my hormones were playing up and that I was just going to have another mc. On the 3rd scan I saw a fetal pole and heart beat. By that point I was told I was about 6+ 3. Honestly a few days can make a real difference in the baby's development so just wait for then next scan and don't loose all hope just yet! I have a private scan booked for tomorrow as I was told I can't have one from the hospital again until my 12 week scan. Anyway, fingers crossed and hope everything goes well for you x
