Is it worth private screening?

Hello, had my 12 week scan yesterday but baby was all scrunched up so the sonographer couldn't do the nuchal screening or date the pregnancy. They have offered me 2nd trimester screening and dating but this only screens for Downs.

My question is, is it worth getting a private screening done?

It's my 2nd pregnancy and I'm 38 if it makes a difference...

Thanks in advance

I had one at 37 here. It was our 3rd and I did not want to tell family and our other dc until I knew the pregnancy was viable. It was hugely reassuring and worth every penny to me.

Thanks @FanSpamTastic I think we are going to for it. Waiting for a call back now. It's the reassurance I want more than anything although they say in 70% of cases they can sex the baby. I didn't know that possible at 12-13 weeks?!?

Yes - we were asked if we wanted to know and as we did they told us that they were 90% certain it was a boy. They were right!

I was 12 weeks when I had the scan.
