Hello, I just received my NHS results for Down’s/edwards’/patau’s screening and all the letter says is ‘lower risk’.

I though you also get an estimated chance e.g. 1:20,000?

How much detail did everyone else get?

Thanks

Mine all gave a numerical risk as you said. Perhaps give them a ring? "Lower risk" can equally mean 1:200 or 1:35,000.

I think different areas do their letters differently, so this may be the standard for where you are. This may be due to the inevitable comparisons either to previous pregnancies or other people. I would say if you’re concerned, speak to your midwife as they’ll know how your local services work.
