Feeling stressed. We opted for NIPT in place of the nucal fold test and having spent all this week worrying about the results they've now rung me to say my sample had inadequate DNA. I've got to have it repeated again on Monday - I am driving myself half crazy worrying and googling! Has anyone else had similar? I'm wishing we'd never done it now!

I didn't have this but apparently it's pretty common. Are you quite early on in pregnancy?

From personal experience, NIPT is much better than the NHS combined screening so it will be worth it. It's so stressful waiting for the results, but I did ours after a sky-high risk at 12 weeks, and it came back clear.

If you've chosen to do NIPT yourself without a prior set of worrying bloods then you have a really high chance that everything is absolutely fine. Please try not to worry.

No that's the think I was dated at over 12 weeks and although slightly overweight my BMI isn't that high which can be another contributing factor. I'm just getting myself so worked up!

I honestly think it's just one of those things that can happen, but I really don't think it means anything in terms of your result. The hospital that did mine explained to me that they have a lot of confidence in the reliability of these non-invasive tests, so I think they are probably very particular when it comes to having to make sure there is "adequate DNA" in the sample. I do remember being warned that sometimes the sample needs to be repeated, so it must be something that happens often enough to have to tell patients that it's a possibility.

The wait is very stressful but try and take care of yourself as much as you can, and remind yourself that you are very, very likely to get good news soon.
