Antenatal tests

Harmony test - how long did you wait for the results?

I am 14 weeks pregnant and was given a high risk of Down's syndrome after my 12 week scan/bloods last week. I am booked in for a harmony test today. I haven't even had the test yet and the wait for the results is driving me to distraction! I can't sleep, I am teary and short with my DC. My clinic has said within 5 working days for the results but I'm guessing the bank holiday will slow things down. How long have people had to wait for results, has anyone heard back sooner?

My last one was slightly less than a week I think. It is excruciating, good luck.

We had the test done on a Monday and were told it would take until the following Monday or Tuesday but had a phone call on the Friday to say the results were all ok and got written confirmation in the post on the Monday.

Good luck.

Had bloods taken the day before Good Friday and then got the results on the following Friday (so effectively only four working days later) and they had to travel from Scotland to London.

Thanks for the replies all. I have just had the test so the waiting game is on. I am in bits! Need to figure out some good distraction techniques.

Hey, Hope your results come in soon! I recently went through this wait (results of an amnio rather than Harmony) and it is a really tough time. I found watching lots and lots of Netflix helped to just switch my brain off and think of something else. I also went on a bit of an online shopping spree! It feels like a distant memory now but it was only 5 weeks ago. Hopefully this will all feel like a distant memory to you soon, too, so you can enjoy the remainder of your pregnancy. Best wishes x

Thank you. I think I might need to find a new series to watch! Shopping spree sounds like a good plan too. Hope you had good results x

Hi user, I got the results at the weekend (was not expecting the call at all) and they results were low risk. I can't express my relief. Thanks for asking.
