Full term with low PAPP A levels

As of today I am 40 weeks pregnant with my first baby. My OB has indicated that the growth of the baby is fine and I do not have preeclampsia or any other condition which would cause concern. She does however, not want me to go past 40 weeks, she is also very dismissive and abrasive when we question her why if both the baby and I are healthy, she just repeats herself with saying its best practice to deliver early and reiterates her on call dates for induction. She seems to be more concerned with scheduling me into her time slots than providing us with some reasoning. She has scheduled me for induction Monday morning (1 day over due) in which hubby and I just cancelled. My husband and I are reluctant to be induced unless it's absolutely necessary- we'd like him to arrive on his own. Any one else gone over due with low PAPP A levels?

I don't think your PAPP A levels have any bearing here. It sounds like she is doing this for purely her own convenience. I would not like to be induced at 40+1 without a good reason.

I had low papp-a and baby came naturally at 41+3. We queried whether they'd induce earlier as something dp had read said they wouldn't allow me to go overdue but they said not as growth scans had indicated no problems

Papp a does have bearing here as lower levels are linked to placental issues.

If you have not had any so far that great but you will be at a higher risk of your placenta deteriorating when over due. I imagine that's why she doesn't want you to go overdue.

I know sometimes it feels like consultants make decisions because it's easier for them but I'm also sure they'd rather not have to induce you if they could avoid it.

I would strongly suggest that if you refuse induction then please ask for daily monitoring
