Timing of nuchal test - is 11+2 too early?

Hi, I just wanted some advice about the timing of the nuchal test. My LMP was 29 June but I have a 33 day cycle, giving me a EDD of 9 April. I've been booked in for a nuchal scan on 21 Sept, but the woman on the phone said I had to at least be 11+6. However, by my calculations I'll be 11+2. I did question her and pointed out my longer cycle (which was mentioned clearly in the referral letter), but she and her colleague both recalculated and insisted I'd be 12+1 on 21 Sept.

Basically, they're wrong. But I'm very happy to go along with it to have an earlier scan and not have so long to wait, but am worried it'll be too early for the nuchal test. Online it seems to suggest that it is fine between 11 weeks and 13+6, so not sure where their '11+6' minimum comes from as I don't see it reflected anywhere else.

What do you think? Should I be ok having it at 11+2?

I'm not in the UK. In my last pregnancy they didn't book me in until 15 weeks. It turned out to be an admin error. I booked a private scan for around that time. Whilst it was too late for an nt scan they were a specialist neo natal radiologist and gave me a letter saying no abnormality was detected.

This time I had the tranquillity genetic screening blood test at 10+1 but they haven't booked my nt until the 26th August when I'll be nearly 14 weeks yet they've assured me this is ok. Actually 13+4 so cutting it a bit fine. I'm undecided about getting a private one earlier buy at 11+2 I think it would be ok.

It does annoy me though surely it's not that difficult to book them closer to 12 weeks.

So frustrating isnt it mrsnec? And different Trusts seem to have slightly different timescales for doing things...so confusing! Well, I'm just going to accept the date they've given me, and if it turns out to be too early it'll be their problem and they'll have to squeeze me in a week later for another one.

I think in those circumstances I'd do the same. I hope they can get the information they need from that one though and wish you all the best.

I think if you go with the nhs/government hospital in my case you have to accept their policies. Last time I had all my appointments at the local hospital but all my tests privately and it felt very disjointed.

Hi. I just had a scan today. The sonographer happened to say that at 11+4 nuchal folds tend to be very small so difficult to get a true reflection of the measurement. I don't know if this is fact though or just her opinion. Good luck.
