NUCHAL size 2.6 - normal?

Hi everyone. Considering I'm a nurse im struggling to get my head round the numbers and meanings for the NT screen! Had scan yesterday at 12+2 and baby measuring 13 weeks! Nuchal size was 2.6 (not got bloods back yet) .... Is this normal!?

Utterly. Here, anything under 3.5mm is considered normal. The further on you are, the thicker it tends to be. I had my NT at 13+6 for example and DS's nuchal fold was 2.9mm.

The bloods are necessary however, to give you an actual figure. Anything below 1:150 is low risk.

Don't panic if you get a results letter earlier than that and open it with your heart in your mouth. I was told 10 days with mine and it was more like 3. Same with smear tests actually. The letter appears on the doorstep within a couple of days and you panic that it's a rushed notice of everything being terribly wrong. IME, it's just that the NHS is far more efficient than the time frames estimated.

Oh good hope so! My scan appt was like that .... Went to gp on a thurs with BFP and had had scan date by the monday

A positive story, I had a nuchal of 2.6 too and I'm 42. Came back low risk when combined with blood tests. Harmony test gave 10000 to 1 risk. I was amazed at nhs risk given my advanced years!!
