Anencephaly

Hi, I'm just looking for some support and positive stories please.
I terminated at 13 weeks for anencephaly in June this year, and last fri 19 dec I had an 12 week scan for another pregnancy and the heart had stopped beating at 9 weeks and it was due to anencephaly again.
We have a 3 and a half year old perfect child so I'm really freaked out. I can't believe we're going through this again, I'm so angry. And I've just read the odds for having it happen again go up massively if it's happened twice.
We so desperately want a sibling for our daughter, she asks all the time which is very difficult for us x

So sorry for your losses. I have no personal experience but a good friend had two pregnancies where the baby had anencephaly like you and did go on to have a healthy bsby boy. Thinking of you, it is hard to live with the uncertainty and sadness I imagine.

Hi there, I am so sorry OP. We went through a tfmr at 15 weeks earlier this year due to a chromosome disorder. Going through it once was heartbreaking enough, I can't imagine the pain of twice. Thinking of you xxx

I'm so very sorry you've had a sad ending again. My heart goes out to you x

I'm sorry you are going through such a miserable time. I had an awful 20 week scan than resulted in a decision to terminate for medical reasons, so I know how heartbreaking it all is. That said twice is really cruel and unfair.
Were you taking 5mg of folic acid?
I know it must seem extremely daunting and perhaps not something that you can think about yet, but don't let it put you off trying again. I was so frightened that I would have another pregnancy with a baby with a serious abnormality but I knew I had to put my fears aside in pursuit of what I want.
Wishing you all well. Xxx
