CVS test due

Hi

I'm booked in for a CVS test on Friday. I'm not particularly concerned but would like to check out the consultant doing the procedure.

I checked the GMC website and although there's information about the specialist register, I can't find any way of checking if my consultant is on the register or if he has any reviews or recommendations.

Is there any way of checking the reputation of a given consultant?

I'm not sure. However, when I had mine, I was told (not by the people doing the cvs but by other people) that it greatly depends on experience - what you want is a very busy hospital/consultant who does CVSs day in day out rather than a smaller place who do them rarely. Do you have any idea of that?

Anyway having typed this I realise you will have had the cvs now. I hope it went ok and you get the results you want.

Went ok but won't get results til next week.
Think I found the doc on the website for Royal College of something or other. He also works at Kings in London so hopefully ok. His demeanour was great anyway. Explained everything well and listened to any concerns we had.

Best of luck for the results - the waiting is horrid so hope they come quick. Glad consultant was good, if he works at Kings he'll be very experienced.

I'm actually not bothered about waiting because I know I can't change the result.
This is more about gaining knowledge so I don't obsess over worst case scenarios for the rest of my pregnancy. Thank you anyway though.
He was good and actually bothered to introduce himself and explain what he was doing , which do many health care professionals don't do.
