I think they give one to everyone...?

I had one at 28 weeks and I had it, which was easily controlled with diet. You should go, it's important.

And yes, it's to test for gestational diabetes.

It's for diabetes - it's standard at my hospital. Had mine yesterday, will get results on Monday.

Is it a fasting one or just a regular blood test? Either way, it's probably testing for GD. In some areas they give GTT (glucose tolerance test - the one with the drink and fasting) to everyone. In others they screen with regular blood test/risk criteria and only give GTT if risk is increased.

WHenwill be reassured that both times I was diagnosed they phoned me the same day, so you're probably in the clear.

its the glucose tolerance test
so do you think anything I should be worried about

Thanks Tarka but midwife said she wouldn't be testing it until Monday so will get a call then if I have it.
