BFP this morning, no idea how to react

I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right topic so I apologise if this is the wrong place.

I tested positive this morning-DP and I have been using condoms for 2 months whilst getting my coil fitting sorted (last one "fell" out).

I have a 4yo DD and have been with DP 2 years-we do not live together though.

I was pregnant alone with my DD, I know I couldn't do that again if anything went wrong. I am scared and won't get a chance to talk to DP properly until Thursday at the earliest-we were both in too much shock this morning.

I don't know why I'm posting, I needed to tell someone and have no one in RL I could discuss this with.

Bless you. Where is DP? Is he away? Why won't you get to talk to him until Thursday?

The big question is do you think he will commit and support you and perhaps live together now?

If not and you decide you want the baby, that's you alone with 2 children...which isn't as terrible as you might think. A baby is a lovely thing and would be a sibling for your daughter....however, you obviously had a bad time alone with DD1 so you will need to think carefully. Is there any reason why you think that might happen again?

Thank you Mrswinnibago, DP is away on business until then although he's trying to get back tomorrow if he can. It's not that I think he won't support me, it's more that I'm scared in case things do go wrong.
I don't know if we are ready for another child, I am just about to start retraining in September and will be on a very low wage making getting a mortgage together difficult (I am renting whereas DP owns a tiny flat which he is keeping for a pension as S/E).

I feel pregnant today and have started to get excited though Smile

There you go! Pregnant is ace! Grin

Dp might have to rethink regarding the tiny flat....maybe let it and rent a place together? You'll still have the flat as security....
