How long for CVS results??

Having CVS in two days time on Wednesday evening and I thought the results for major trisomies would only take two or three days but the small print I have just been reading says 5 working days, argh!

Has anyone had CVS recently, how long did the Edwards/Patau/Downs results take to come back please?

I think a lot depends on the hospital - the fast results from my first cvs took six days (due to a weekend and a BH), my second came back with 24 hours. I also suspect that having my cvs done by the head of the FMU the second time had some impact on the turnaround. Fingers crossed for you.

Arggghhhh six days! I cannot cope with a wait that long, please no! 24 hours sounds more like it. Fingers crossed! Thanks Ghislaine.

I had to pay £70 to get the first set including Edwards and Downs within a few days. The full set took over a week.

I waited 24 hours for my results for the most common three trisomies, I didn't pay any money x

Ooh I really hope mine come within 24 hours. I am a nervous wreck at the mo and the procedure isn't even until Weds. Be amazing to get the initial results by the end of the week and end this torture.

There's a good chance you'll get the fast results before the weekend, but try not to get your hopes up too much, just in case (as if it were that easy!).

I don't know if you saw my message on the support thread, but I'm thinking of you and will be on Wednesday evening.

Thinking of you Ali. I am 18 weeks pregnant, had the cvs this time at 11 weeks after tfmr for DS last pregnancy. The fast results were such a relief after the hell of last year as I am sure you will appreciate. Fingers crossed you get the same results as me and can enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

Lostlove, thanks for your messages, nd yes I am really starting to obsess about the results timescale now, I don't think I will be able to cope if this goes into next week.

Snapple21 glad to hear that you got fast and more importantly good results this time. I fervently hope I can join you soon and put some of the recent hell behind me.

Of course I haven't even got the CVS done yet - maybe there will be a problem with the baby (MMC?) or they wont be able to get a sample or something.

It's all so stressful isn't it.

Bloody phone! Had it on the Friday before a bank holiday weekend, and got the fast results on the Wednesday, so only a couple of working days, then the full results about 9 days later.

Good luck for yours, the waiting is the pits.

The consultant did my CVS last night and said I won't get any results into Monday, argh!

Just in case anyone is reading this thread having searched for CVS result timescales - finally got results at 6pm today so rather a long wait! All clear thankfully.

My fast results were ready at 5pm on the monday after a friday amnio (amnio on the weds failed but due to the wwekend i wouldnt have heard till the monday anyway). The full results were the following tuesday at 4.30pm. so hopefully u will get them next monday. Fingers crossed for you still

Are you able to relax a little more or u still stressed to the max?
