Had the phone call this morning to tell me that we have a a 1:25 chance. Having the amnio in a week. NT was well within limits but its a kicker that my age and bloods have given me this result. I'm almost 40 DH is 49. We will see what happens obviously but it really is worrying.

No advice I'm afraid but didn't want to leave you unanswered. It must be a very worrying time for you. I guess the positive is that 24:25 says all will be fine, that is good odds. :)

Flowers for you and your DH. I will keep my fingers crossed for next week.

Thank you so much. Just been told the test won't be until the 9th now so a little more waiting.

Oh that sucks making you wait that long. :(

FluffyDucky · 05/07/2013 12:53

How are you doing Lady? The wait in the run up to the amnio is so odd isn't it?!

ladymalfoy · 07/07/2013 19:05

It sure is! DH and I staying positive by talking to and about the bump. But it's the three day wait after the test that is the next hurdle.

I hope the test goes well for you and your DH today. Flowers

We had a very similar result when I was pg last year, great nuchal measurement but when the bloods etc were factored in my odds were 1:32 so not all good. Like you we opted for an amnio because I had to know what we were potentially going to have to deal with. Thankfully our result came back normal and we now have a beautiful baby daughter. So my message to you is that the odds are still very much in your favour, you have 75% chance of everything being fine, so keep positive and i shall send you some Thanks as I know how horrible all this waiting is.

Thank you for going through this with me. The FMU at Queens in Brum is brill. Amnio was crampy but not painful. It was my low PAP score that triggered the extra screening and it was the wonderful consultant who explained this to me. Results by the weekend or Monday at the latest but if all goes well it will just be growth scans and monitoring me for pre-eclampsia.
ThanksThanksThanks To you all and I'll keep you posted. Good luck to others going through this.

I'm glad it wasn't painful. Hopefully you can put your feet up and rest this afternoon?

My fingers are crossed for you. I hope they don't make you wait too long to find out.
