I'm probably completely over-thinking this whole situation but could do with a bit of reassurance as I have suddenly started to panic somewhat.
I have a history of pregnancies that end in termination due to Annencephally - 2 in fact - I had a very healthy little boy in between.
So as you can well imagine this time round discovering the baby was 'healthy' and that our Downs risk was 1:16000 was completely overwhelming and we are so excited.
The Sonographer was very happy with what she saw at 12 weeks but insisted on a 16 week scan so the consultant could check the spine and rule out spina bifida.
Is this just a precaution or would you say we had something to worry about. If you're happy with what you see, why not just do this at 20 weeks?
Please tell me I'm being a nob.
