I had a thread the other day after I had a call from the midwife saying she was concerned about a few things on the scan. Nuchal fold at 3.4mm and no nasal bone present. I had bloods done and just got the results. 1:5 chance. I am in shock. I had convinced myself after reading loads of positive similar stories, that it would be ok.
The mdwf is sorting an amnio out tomorrow morning (I am not in UK,it is night time here) I have to travel 3 hours to have the amnio done.
I just feel this is not going to end well.

Our decision was made easy, baby had a minor vsd of 1mm (hole in the heart), they think it will close before birth, loads of ds children are born with far worse, and no other health issues to note apart from a but if excess fluid around the brain which is a marker for downs so they aren't concerned as long as it doesn't increase

Had we been faced with the same problems you are both faced with our decision may have been a lot harder and more heart breaking
so I really feel for you both Sad

I know leaky valves are serious, have they said much about it? I only ask as I myself have a regurgitating floppy valve which has not been fixed, it does not change anything in my life, it's just there, I dunno if it's the same thing or not?
I think about 90% plus of ds diagnosis decide to terminate, I was shocked at this but when you think about the extra health problems I can see why so many do

Xx
