Waiting for results

I'm currently waiting the agonising 2 weeks for amnio results. One week down and just hope that we can get them by next weekend.

I was due to have a cvs at 12.5 weeks but my bloody bowel was in the way! Although the results would have taken the same time to come back, I would have been nearly 15 weeks.
However I am currently 17+2 and hoping that they will be no longer than another week. I have been told that sometimes results can take upto 21 days eeeeek!!

Is anyone else waiting for results that needs support?

Aww winnie you have my sympathies, waiting is horrible. I don't understand why are you having to wait 2 weeks for the results. When I had my amnio I had the results back in 48 hours, we had the full carryotype after 2 weeks bur by then we knew there was no no downs, Edwards or pataus which are the most common. Don't forget the full carryotype is testing for the really rare genetic stuff and there is statistically very very little chance of having any of them. So try and relax xxx

I got the results for downs etc but we are waiting to see the full results as we are carriers of a rare genetic syndrome and we have 1 in 4 chance each pregnancy. That would explain things more!

Winnie that explains a lot, you have my sympathies it must be horrendous waiting and waiting. I really hope things work out for you xxx

Any news yet Winnie?

Hi boggler, no results as yet. I phoned the hospital yesterday (even though i know they will ring me) to see if they were back but they said they can take quite a while! They told me to ring on Tuesday if I still haven't heard anything and they can see if they can chase it up

Got results back today!! All clear
