I am 7 weeks this week and don't have my booking in app until May 23rd - which is 13 weeks. So first scan will be some time after that. This seems late. I am 40 and would like to be on the ball with timings of tests in case of problems. This was the first date they could offer - first suggested booking in at 15 weeks. Would you go private if they can't see me earlier?

that sounds very strange to me?? if they were planning on doing the nuchal scan with you then this needs to be done (i think i'm right) between 11 and 13+6 weeks.....so yes in my opinion they are leaving this late? a suggested booking in at 15 weeks is absolutely ridiculous!!
i would first of all query this with them and see if you can be seen any earlier, if they are not budging then yes, i think i would see about going private!!

Hi - just rearranged. The receptionist who originally did it was new and panicked about all the bank holidays (the booking in apps are on Mondays) but spoke to someone more experienced who phoned the midwife and she has agreed to see me on a different day when I'll be 9 weeks. Phew!
