TTC after T21 - anyone had array CGH?

We have just lost our baby at 13 weeks to T21, it was too poorly to survive to term.
We want to ttc again ASAP. This baby was conceived with clomid after ttc since May 09 with a mc in Nov 09.
We had been advised to think about ICSI as I have endometriosis and H has low morphology.
We are now trying to decide whether to have array CGH ICSI so that we know that any embryos transferred are chromosomally normal.

So sorry to hear about your miscarriage blacktreaclecat. I've not had CGH, but didn't want your post to go unanswered.

I conceived a baby with Down's syndrome after IVF and have toyed with CGH if we go down that route again. If you have the money, there's no harm in giving CGH a go -- my understanding is that it can also increase the success rate of IVF/ICSI because chromosomal abnormalities are the main cause of miscarriage/implantation failure etc.

33. My main concern is that I don't want to go through the stress of IVF to have to tfmr again. I figure if the technology is there to check the egg is chromosomally normal and we can afford it, that is the sort of IVF we want. Thanks for your reply

One thing you might want to consider is that array CGH is a relatively new
tool and they might find regions of deletion and/or duplication that are not clinically known. Then you wouldn't know if to continue or not. Maybe something to ask. What is your reason to go beyond karyotyping? (My comments are not meant critically at all - just things you might want to ask yourself).

AFAIK they only check numbers of chromosomes in the egg, by checking the polar body not whole karyotype.
We have had our own karyotypes done they are normal.
It wouldn't stop trisomy etc caused by the sperm but I think these are less common.
