Calcuim Deposit on Liver.

Hi,

I am 23 weeks preganat and 31 years old.

I had my 2nd scan at 22 weeks and they picked up a white mark around the babys liver area, I then returned for a 2nd scan with a doctor who told me its a calcuim deposit on the Liver and could be a sign that i have had a virus while being pregnant or the baby may have downs (i am low risk on a blood test and the baby shows no other markers) or rqually there could be nothing wrong. I have just had a set or TORCH tests to test for any of the Viral infections and am awaiting the results. I was wondering if anyone else has heard or had this? I have been worrying non stop since leaving the hospital and am just trying to find anyone else that has had or heard of this.

Hello there - I don't have any personal experience but my friend who is 46 had this with her baby - infact the liver showed up with loads of bright spots and she was told it could be 1 of 3 or 4 really serious horrid things, or nothing. it turned out to be absolutely nothing and her little girl is completely fine. I am so sorry you're having such an anxious time - that i can relate to and it's horrible. Take care and please report back with your results!
