Help with postnatal depression/anxiety

Hi there... I am 2 and half weeks postpartum after a traumatic birth ( been basically refused to get pain relief in labour, as they did not believe me that I was in active labour...and also failed to monitor my baby while in labour, which almost resulted him having serious complications or worse 🫥)
I know postpartum depression is a thing, but I believe birth itself made it worse, can't stop thinking about it.
I am also extremely worried about my son, feeling anxious all day, every day,all I can think about that maybe the time he was in serious distress while he was born has affected him in any way??
I want to know if anyone has tried any remedies for depression/anxiety? I have done a little research and found the following supplement: GABA 750mg - Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid - is it safe postpartum? Anyone ever tried? I bottlefeed my son - half formula, half breastmilk. Is this suitable? I will also ask my GP, I am just worried they will suggest me to go on some serious antidepressants, which I am trying to avoid at any costs.
If you have any other suggestions, I am listening !! Thank you x

You really do need to speak to the GP or your MW, it sounds like you had a rough time and need some help.

Is the mixed feeding something you were advised to do, or do you need some help increasing your breast milk?

The GP should offer talking therapy before any medication. And of course it’s your choice not to take medication. There are teams within NHS specifically to support mothers who have very young babies. Well done for reaching out.

I wasn't advised to do mixed feeding, it was just very painful to latch him on, so I decided to express and it works out well now. I also formula fed my first one, and it worked for us very well.
I am a bit hesitant to reach out to GP,or MW if I am being honest. Few years ago I was in a very dark place due to my abusive ex (my first-borns father), I did ask for help from GP, been referred to Talkworks, completed the therapy, but did not help, I must admit...I doubt it would be different second time around.
But we did reached out to Exeter hospital where my son was born to have an after birth conversation with them, to discuss what happened during labour and for us to ask any questions we might have..although we have to wait,as they only do it 12 weeks postnatal.
I was just hoping I can find some supplements that would help me with this anxiety. Thank you for your kind words! X
