Hi all,
As the title suggests I have given my notice to return to work.
I have been struggling with PND and am week 1 into citalopram after my GP didn't feel sertraline was working for me.
Has anybody gone straight back to work on sick following Mat leave and how long did you need off?
I honestly don't see me getting past feeling so so sad all the time. There is no way I can do my job effectively feeling as I do.

Please request your GP to sign you off for a few more weeks at least until the citalopram kicks in.

There is no shame in this at all. I am waiting for a 'fit note' from my GP to sign me off for a couple of weeks due to depression and MH reasons.

Your first main priority at the moment is to look after yourself. Can you talk to your health visitor or maternity nurse?

Do you have support from friends or family members?

I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks.
Yes I've got lots of support...GP has been good, HV's are notoriously bad around here...the gp requested they make contact with me and they haven't...not quite sure what difference they'll make though.

Feel bad about not going back to work. Hope they don't think I'm taking the piss 🙁

Don't feel bad. The 'guilt' just adds to the stress. Be honest with them and say you don't feel up to the job just yet but that you are seeking medical help. Can you request a fit note via your surgery's website?

It will get better.

There's nothing to feel guilty about @bigboymamaz. You are I'll and Ned time to recover
