Midwife self referral

I’m not sure if anyone could give me a helping hand here. I just this weekend found out that I’m pregnant and called my GP on Monday morning. The receptionist told me to fill in a self referral form for my local hospital maternity centre, but when I submitted the form, it didn’t give any indication how long it will be until a midwife gets in touch. Does anyone else have any experience with these self referral forms and can give me an idea of how long it took for someone to contact you? Thanks!

This is fairly common practice these days, you're unlikely to hear anything yet but you should have what's called your booking appointment when you are between 8-10 weeks pregnant so they can arrange your scan and take your details, bloods etc. You'll probably get notification of when the appointment is in a few weeks' time.

Congratulations!

Thank you so much for your help! Smile I really wasn’t sure when to expect a call or an email but your reply’s helped me put my mind at rest! I’d much prefer to pick up the phone and speak to someone rather than do these online forms! Thanks again!

Congratulations on your PG @Jennifer3192 Thanks

Have you found the Pregnancy Section and the Birth Club for the month you're due? They are both under "Becoming a Parent" Smile
