Hi is anyone able to help me I think I may have miscarried but I’m not entirely sure it’s started with me going to town with my mum and noticed I had leaked in my pants and me thought it was my period so I went to the toilets and noticed the blood was like a pinkish fluid type of stuff so I put a pad on and filled my pad up couple of hours passed and I went home I went to the toilet and noticed there was a large amount of blood in the toilet I turned round to my sister and said there shouldn’t be that much blood, at this time I had no idea I was pregnant I thought it was my period so then the bleeding stopped and then started again but this time it was brown with lots and lots of small clots in I have phoned the hospital and the doctors and they have told me that it could’ve been a really early misscarriage and have spoken to friends who have been through this to and they have said the same thing I did 2 pregnancy tests yesterday and both positive would that be because if I did misscarry it would be still the hcg in my system still and my hormones are still very high I’ve been getting some lower cramping mild and my breasts still feel sore and I feel tired and achy can anyone help me out it would be grateful thank you x

Hello, this must all be quite scary for you. Yes if you are miscarrying a pregnancy test is still likely to read positive.
Do you have anyone around in RL to give you support tonight?

CocaColaTruck1 · 15/10/2021 19:22

Basically yes.
HCG doesn't disappear straight away, but you may also have some tissue left inside of you which can be dangerous.
I would get some bloods tests done, they'll do them 48 hours apart to see if it's rising or coming down.

Yes it really does sound like it if you are getting positive tests. I'm sorry OP Flowers

In peoples honest opinion does it sound like I have misscarried the doctors have said that it sounds like I have and they can't scan me because it's to early to tell they told me to wait a week before testing again

Unfortunately it can take your body a while to catch on to what is happening. I believe the pg symptoms are related to the presence of the hormones you still have in your body. They will go away though just takes a bit longer Flowers

Well you know about the pg because of the positive tests, and you are having a large amount of bleeding by the sound of it. Obviously people can have spotting while pregnant (I have had myself) but you do sound like you are having an excessive amount. Did the doctor say you'd get a scan in a week?

No they just said to wait and test in a week and if I start bleeding again to ring them up but tbf I'd want my bloods done to see if my hcg levels are going up or down

With my miscarriages it started with cramping and then bleeding etc. pregnancy symptoms went away very quickly but I was also only 6 weeks. If you’re a little further along it can definitely take a while for pregnancy symptoms to go away.

I think the things you want to look out for are a lot of pain (ectopic), fever (infection), heavy bleeding. If you have none of those then it isnt anything medically to worry about although it’s obviously very distressing emotionally. I found the GP did sweet f-a for my miscarriages and was incredibly unkind.
