When will sertraline kick in?

Hi all,

I started taking sertraline for PND 10 days ago, but only took half a dose (25mg) for the first 6 days, then moved up to 50mg. I'm already not crying as much as before but still feel very low and anxious. Anyone have any idea how long before it properly kicks in?

Thanks in advance

I’m sorry you’re feeling so low. For me it was quite quick, faster that the 3 weeks the doctor suggested (though I went straight to 50mg). It has been amazing for me so hang on in there Flowers

@Correlation
Just checking in to see how you’re feeling. I hope you’re doing OK

Hi @PoppityPop I'm alright thanks. I think the sertraline is doing something as I realised last night that I haven't sobbed at all for the last week. Before that I kept breaking down and finding everything too overwhelming, and constantly replaying my traumatic birth. Hopefully things continue to improve.

How are you doing?

Are you getting counseling? I saw a counselor for CBT and honestly feel like that made a bigger difference than the medication
