Bleeding two weeks after c section...is this normal?

Just looking for some advice. I had an emergency c section two weeks ago. The bleeding tapered off a few days ago but since this afternoon i noticed that the bleeding has started again. Its heavier than what it has been....not soaking a pad an hour. Is it normal for the bleeding to start and stop

Yep. I was on and off for 5 weeks. It's quite unnerving as it can appear to stop then come out of nowhere. Congratulations on your little one

I'm not sure, but I know my sister was bleeding afterwards (more than two weeks) and it was a piece of retained placenta. As I say, it was MORE than two weeks after. I don't know what's usual. Worth checking with the Dr tomorrow. Good luck.

I can't remember exactly but after both my emcs the bleeding lasted 4-6 weeks. After first couple of weeks went from maternity pads to liners as flow slowed but some days heavier than others.

Think clots are what you need to look out for, and any nasty smells.

Yes. Mine stopped and started a few times so I would say it's normal. I think it stopped completely just after two weeks as we had sex but it was very sporadic up to then (and very strange colours at times!)

I was still bleeding till week 6 stopped for a couple of weeks at most then had a period. Could it be your first period after birth if the bleeding almost went away?

Dr advised me at my check up that as long as there’s no foul smell and I have no fever/sickness it’s not a concern.

Sorry, just re read that you’re only 2 weeks pp, I’d say that’s totally normal.

Mine stopped and started a few times and lasted for 6 weeks. I've had 2 c sections. I'd say totally normal.

Thank you all for your help. Glad to hear that it can happen even after it had slowed down. Its quite scary to see it starting again quite heavily compared to what the past few days were like. What do they mean by clots? Midwife says as long as not passing clots...there are some what i would call normal period clots...like stringy which i assume is normal but wanted to check? Sorry if tmi....
