Hello mums, please could you help me out? I am a mum and I am new to mumsnet. I am in my final year of study to qualify as a counsellor and as part of this I am currently doing a research project to see how accessible counselling is to new mums who need help with anxiety/depression. I would be extremely grateful if anyone could please fill in a short questionnaire for me as I need to gather as much information as possible. If you would be happy to help me out please let me know. Thank you in advance xx

Happy to help, baby is 16 weeks, still often feeling like crap, going through the process of getting someone to talk to through health in mind (HIM) - mentioned how I felt to HV over the phone early on, told GP at 8 week check, was referred to HIM and finally had an appointment over phone with a trainee around week 13, trainee decides I might have OCD - I don’t, have had a baby during lockdown and finding elements of it really hard - but she insisted. Am still having to wait for an assessment over the phone with an OCD specialist while I not so silently go mad. Don’t know how else to find counselling in this other than through GP/HIM.
I’d be happy to do your survey once you post it as I think services need to be improved and that the experience of mother’s during lockdown needed more consideration.
