Hi, following as I also have same situation. Worked brilliantly for my PND and now in my second week of being back on it for a second time but this time round I am exhausted. I still feel optimistic that give it a couple more weeks it'll kick in and side effects will settle. Hope you have the same too!

Citalopram literally saved my life! I had it after postnatal depression and came off it after 5 years. I then had another depressive episode and went back on after a few years. The side effects did seem to be worse but after 10 days or so I felt normal again. It's been 2 years now and I can't see me ever coming off them.

What dose are you on? If it's 10mg as the starter dose you might need to go to 20mg.

blsckie · 13/07/2019 21:10

I’m on 40

40 is a big dose to go straight on to - no wonder you have side effects!!! I have no side effects now and feel great. I'd give it another 2 weeks and see how you feel.

justgivemewine · 14/07/2019 22:07

I’m on citalopram. Definately worked for me but 40mg is quite a big dose as a previous poster said so I would give it a bit longer to settle down.

Hi @blsckie. I'm only on 20mg but symptoms (both of anxiety/depression and side effects) seem to be lessening. It's been two weeks today for me and this weekend I've felt an improvement. Still yawning and feeling tired, falling asleep in front of the tv but didn't take any naps at the weekend unlike the one before where I was exhausted. How are you feeling?

blsckie · 17/07/2019 06:04

i am still feeling awful into my third week no signs of it easing . im exhausted with having no sleep anyone got any advice on sleeping thankyou

I’m on it now, I was exhausted for a while and i has nausea but it did go sway. It also agrevaited my OCD but then I cut down from 20mg to 10g and now don’t have any of those issues. Maybe change the dosage?

Lemlem85 · 26/07/2019 22:00

My side effects lasted about 6-8 weeks then I reduced after about 12-16 weeks
