Hey ladies,
As I suffered with PND and now am in recovery, I have set up a Facebook group which is a small online network of Mums who advise and support each other, we are not medical professionals but we advise the best we can from experience, you can find us at www.facebook.com/groups/MUMS4MUMSUK/

Hi, I have just noticed your post regarding your support for women who have suffered from post-natal depression. We are conducting a study at King's College London called The Biological Basis of Reproductive Depression in which we are examining the possibility that some womens’ brains are more sensitive to fluctuation in sex hormones (e.g. Oestrogen and Progesterone) than other women. In some women this sensitivity might make them more likely to suffer from depression at time of hormonal changes, such as postnatally.

We are looking to recruit mums in London (or surrounding areas) who have either suffered from post-natal depression/depression or mums have never suffered from depression for a free MRI brain scan and some assessments at King's College London. We are also offering £50 to each participant as a thank you for their time, a fun photo of their brain from the scan and will reimburse travel fees.

If this is something you think the mums on your Facebook group would be interested in I am more than happy to send you the study details Smile For more information please email me on the BRCRed team at: [email protected]

Kind regards,
Suzanne
