Last week I walked into the nurse's office in my local GP practice. I had brought my son in with me and the second I stepped foot into the room she exclaimed "gosh he's young, how old is he?" I answered saying he was 18 months, she immediately looked shocked and said "what?! And your having another?" I was taken aback. I planned to have my children close in age, and number 2 is due a month after number 1 turns two, and I thought it was common to have kids a couple of years apart (each to their own of course) but she kept on saying that I'm going to have my work cut out and it's going to be really hard.

I know people who have had their babies closer together than that and cope fine, you just get on with it. Yes it may be hard work and challenging but you will manage and get through it. Don't worry, people will always have something to say! I'm 32 weeks pregnant now and I'm used to it 😴 X

Thanks x I thought as much, just didn't expect it from a medical professional!

She sounds like a nosey old bat! I have a 2yr 3 month gap. It was hard at first but now they are best friends and I had a great year of maternity leave that year with the two of them. I wouldn't change it for the world. I have given each of them the gift of a close sibling to grow up with.
