Severe Health Anxiety

Does anyone else suffer with severe health anxiety? I am 21 weeks pregnant and suffering awful. Does anyone else have any experience? I really need some help x

Mine developed during pregnancy. I was obsessed with something harming the baby. Now I'm obsessed with anything that could prevent me having another. It's so hard. Had counselling etc but didn't help as couldnt really open up. Wish I had gone on medication but couldnt as was too scared it would hurt baby (even though many are safe, it was part of my anxiety). Have you spoken to a doc or midwife? Xx

Hi there, I'm struggling too - just posted a new thread about anxiety attacks at night. I am convinced something's wrong with me and I won't live to see my baby grow up, which is making me sick with nerves. Doctors have said I can go back on meds if I get really bad, but I am trying to hold out... Take care and know that you're not alone x

Hi both,
How are you both getting on? I'm still struggling with the anxiety daily it's horrendous. I worried if you were managing to get some support xx

I too had such an experience. You must not ignore it. Visit a doctor immediately. You may try finding one through teddy can..just type doctor in case your doctor is not available during festive time.

Still struggling I'm afraid. Having cbt but it seems a bit naff so don't know if it's being done properly???? Sleep deprivation makes it worse but I have a 4 month old so I'm going to be sleep deprived and he doesn't sleep in the day without being held so I can't sleep when he sleeps. I'm so down xx

Hi Fuzzyduck I hope you're coping. I'm still suffering. Still going with the CBT. Xx
Fuzzyduck21 · 16/01/2016 22:40
Sorry to hear that :( what kind of things do they get you to do in cbt? I'm not sure if I would be better off with some general talking therapy rather than cbt xx
gemsparkle84 · 18/01/2016 10:27
With CBT you get the talking bit too. I do things like writing things down to reflect on and looking at where I going wrong with my behaviour and how then has an effect on my thoughts. It's really good.
Fuzzyduck21 · 18/01/2016 11:00
Yeah I just think maybe my CBT guy isn't that good haha. Will persevere.... It does make me rationalise things but I still can't shift the thoughts even though I know they aren't rational xx

I'm the same Fuzzy. I have some shit days and some are a bit better. Like you say we've just got to persevere.
