Hi i am currently 6/7 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and have been taking Citalopram. Usual with this type of medicine your are gradually weaned off but my doctor advises that I stop immediately as there is not a lot of evidence of how safe it is during pregnancy. So 6 days without and I feel terrible as if I can't cope with this pregnancy. I feel constantly dizzy with what I can only describe as brain zaps and spaced out. Any one else in the same predicament???

I was told it was safe during pregnancy? I wanted to come off anyway as I didn't want to risk it, I slowly came off it by 12 weeks, I did get dizziness and low blood pressure though. Talk to your doctor?

I took it.

Dr and consultant and head of psychiatry consulted and agreed worse to come off it.

Also took during bf. 20 mg dose.

I was prescribed it at 18 weeks as safe to take during pregnancy and bf. Its what the maternity psychiatric unit use too.

I came off it on doctors advice and within 6 weeks I had a horrible breakdown. I mean almost sectioned. I'm now on setraline but could have gone back on citalopram if I chose. It's just I find the first few days on it very hard until it kicks in. Setraline I found less intense.

I took sertraline during pregnancy. Citalopram is ok as is sertraline very little risk .
