Anyone have post traumatic stress after dc's birth?

Just wondered if anyone had and wanted to talk about it?

I was induced with dc1 (9 months old now) and had a very quick labour that felt totally out of control. The ward was very busy and they didn't have time to explain what was going on but they were worried about ds's heartrate. Crash cart and lots of people running in and out, pressing emergency alarm etc. Actually was fine when he came out, results from cord all good etc.

Its like I can't turn off the terror that something was going wrong. Even though I can see he is developing fine and no one else is worried about him, I feel that SOMETHING BAD is going to happen to him.

Thanks TSC. I know its normal to be hyper concerned about their well being - they are so helpless after all.

But its like I know something bad is going to happen and I think everyone else around him is a fool that they seem to think he's fine. Every time I go to check on him I prepare myself to find him dead.

I know what you mean about Edgar, which feels horrible and selfish as they are actually going through it.

Yeah I have been diagnosed and having treatment, which has helped to an extent. I now don't always stand over him watching him breathe until he wakes up again!
