To think Auriol Grey being jailed is not appropriate.

I’m interested to hear the thoughts and reactions of others as to me given her cognitive issues and the fact she is partially blind, it just seems like such a sad accident, I can’t see why she was jailed.
I think what she did was awful, but it surely just highlights the lack of appropriate social care she clearly needed?

There have already been about 3 threads about this.

InstagramBitchWife · 03/03/2023 11:52

I hadn't read that she had cognitive issues?

TomatoSandwiches · 03/03/2023 12:01

I'm sure I read the sentence was being appealed, so if true then that will be something to keep an eye on at least.

Whiteminnowfish · 03/03/2023 12:01

Is this the lady who pushed the cyclist onto the road and cyclist died?

Yes it is

freyamay74 · 03/03/2023 12:05

Absolutely right that she's in jail, it was a horrendous act for which she apparently showed no regret or remorse until the day she was jailed. Which sounds like regret for herself, not for causing someone to die horribly

SouthCountryGirl · 03/03/2023 12:01

Yes it is

I read that she didn't push, she gesticulated towards her and no contact was made.

Funkyslippers · 03/03/2023 12:07

Yes I don't think she pushed her but she left pretty sharpish before the emergency services arrived

Her KC has said she's appealing it.

soggydigestives · 03/03/2023 12:08

Well I don't think the cyclist should have been on the pavement in the first place, however, even with cognitive issues and partial blindness, pushing her into the road was wrong. I saw the video footage and even though you don't actually see the lady get run over, for that to have happened she must have realised there was pretty close oncoming traffic, and actions should have consequences.

BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs · 03/03/2023 12:09

There's multiple threads about this already. It's entirely appropriate that she is in jail. She assaulted Celia Ward and caused her death.

BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs · 03/03/2023 12:09

She admitted she made 'light contact'

LadyWiddiothethird · 03/03/2023 12:09

Why start another thread on the same subject?

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 03/03/2023 12:10

Yes she should be in jail. She pushed someone to their death effectively. She deserves to be in jail.

GrasstrackGirl · 03/03/2023 12:10

You do realise what manslaughter is?

IMHO three years isn't long enough.

Did she push the cyclist, though? I haven't read that anywhere so far. The reporting is a bit vague and lacking in detail.

yentirb · 03/03/2023 12:13

I think she needed to face up to the consequences of her actions, she acted absolutely ridiculous and she didn't think about the risk she was posing to others, that said, 3 years is WAY too much

LakeTiticaca · 03/03/2023 12:13

She didn't push her she waved her arms around and caused the cyclist to swerve into oncoming traffic . She has cerebral palsy and is partially sighted.
Assuming she realised that the cyclist had been hit by a car she should have stayed at the scene.

There is nothing to be gained from sending a disabled lady to jail for what was clearly an accident.

Apparently it was one of those split pavements with a side for pedestrians and a side for cyclists.

yentirb · 03/03/2023 12:14

I watched the video she didn't push her but she did wave at her and gesture her to move and was quite close to her when she did it. This lead to the cyclist falling off her bike and into oncoming traffic

OneTC · 03/03/2023 12:15

We should remember that the big tragedy is the innocent person that died, not the imprisonment of the person that killed her

FloydPepper · 03/03/2023 12:15

Yet another person who doesn’t understand what manslaughter is and arrogantly thinks they know better than the people who have actually seen all the evidence

yentirb · 03/03/2023 12:15

Also why leave the scene? And the poor driver most be traumatised

yentirb · 03/03/2023 12:15

Must* fat fingers

IClaudine · 03/03/2023 12:16

I am really on the fence with this one tbh. If she actually pushed the cyclist then it is pretty clear cut. The fact that she left the scene is also not in her favour, what sort of person does that?
