Yes Privetdancer no joke and no tin hats! fabric softener perfume "attaches itself" to my washing - that dear is what it is designed to do...remember the ads where people walk around all day with flowers floating off their clothes. I understand that their is always a time to tumble dry due to bad weather, living in a flat etc, but it seems to me that so many people don't give a damn about global warming - blow us adults but what about our children. I just took this info off Bloom website "Tumble dryers are the most energy intensive household applainces - nearly two thirds more than washing machines - and create 310kg of CO2 a year each on average. Drying clothes on a washing line creates no emissions and saves about £70 a year in fuel bills. Plus, drying your clothes in the fresh air doesn't risk shrinking them and shortening their lifespan" NO mention of £15 a year there!!
