They're a bit disturbing and it only happened once to me so yes, a bit unnecessary, however a funnel plumbed into the toilet be a good idea!

Think it is probably just a gag gift though.. Crap you can buy for xmas for people who already have all the crap they could ever need (and have babies so none of the room for all the crap they already have!)
