left dd in creche for half an hour,2nd time ive left her, last time i only went to the loo....

just as the half hour was finishing the creche worker came to me in the cafe and asked if i had a nappy for her (id left them under the pram) cos she had poo'd...

i said i'd come and do,it, she said no,its fine, i can do it, i said it was alright, i was coming anyway and went in and changed her and took her home....

the creche worker was looking at me like i was mental for wanting to do it myself, was it wierd not to let her? there was no reaon other than i was coming anyway...now i'm all paranoid she thinks im a wierdo

Maybe she didn't realise it was only the second time you'd left her. Don't worry, she'll have forgotten about it next time you see her

AgentZigzag · 07/07/2010 23:00

Not sure why she'd be looking at you weirdly for wanting to change your own DCs bum, what's it to her?

Could you have misinterpreted the look? It's easily done. Perhaps she looks like that all the time? I'd have done the look back at her just in case she was being judgy

Vallhala · 07/07/2010 23:06

Perhaps she was just surprised that you weren't taking her up on her offer. We all know how many nappies we have to change during our DCs babyhood and it would be understandable for a parent to gratefully accept despite the fact they were about to collect and leave with their babe anyway.

I'm sure she thought as I would, that you were just being polite and didn't want to take advantage when you were there anyway. Don't stress it, I've no doubt that she won't think you weird or be judging you.

(But next time, accept all the help on offer, because it dries up after a while ime!).

Maybe she thought that you thought she wasn't capable or something. Why refuse an offer to change a nappy, I wouldn't!

Squitten · 08/07/2010 10:08

I wish someone would come and offer to change some of the nappies I get here!
