to not allow the dog in the house after I've watched her eat her own poo!

Blurghhhhhhhhhhhh I know dogs can be disgusting and we LOVE our 8 month old springer spaniel puppy, BUT - I just watched her (look away if you're squeamish) poo and eat it and I can't quite bring myself to let her in the house......

It is quite common with young dogs, but it could mean a deficiency in something. Make sure you worm her regularly too.

I love dogs too but I don't have one right now although I did grow up with one and have had them in the past.

I had forgotten how dirty they can be sometimes! When I was on holiday recently a dog ate up a girl's vomit on the street it was so disgusting ....

Now I really DON'T want another dog in a rush again!!

Clean her teeth and give her a worming tablet. Dogs are disgusting, but eating their own poo isn't a usual habit. I'll bet you a bonio she has worms.

Yikes! Coprophagia. I was feeling broody for a dog but have slammed back down to earth since this thread and memories of my mum's springer rolling in fox shit.

They don't do themselves any favours do they?

Hey Spider - haven't you had enough of pets with your cat! Don't think I could ever have had a dog in Brighton, she came in so wet, muddy and smelly last night I had to give her a bath and try and dry her in front of the fire (Winter here), at least most of the year drying time is around 5 minutes!

She has been wormed recently Merrylegs but maybe I'd better keep an eye (bleurgh again at the thought of having to check her poo!!!).

Yes have witnessed this too, couldn't talk to her for days! But she was ill and I didn't realise it at the time. Get mutt checked out at Vet.
