foureleven · 05/07/2010 16:06

It's not very exciting.

SH went to the reunion with DW and the OF didn't turn up, so he was safe.

thesunshinesbrightly · 05/07/2010 16:11

No need to be embrassed hate it when threads are not updated. So rude.

foureleven · 05/07/2010 16:19

Thanks! He's just responded on another thread. How boring. haha

livethedream · 05/07/2010 16:24

was he real then? I couldn't tell...

livethedream · 05/07/2010 16:25

Oh, and did he tell DW in advance in the end, or did he know in advance she wasn't going?

thesunshinesbrightly · 05/07/2010 16:26

livethedream - As far as i know he was seemed a bit unreal but think it was just his blokish behaviour.

foureleven · 05/07/2010 16:58

Oh I dont know, ill go over and ask him... hang on.

OP posts:
stubbornhubby · 05/07/2010 17:11

of course i am real [twirls to demonstrate]
if you don't believe me.. ask me to lunch

I basically chanced it, with a rather complicated, flimsy back up plan that luckily wasn't required

OF was on the attend list, but didn't turn up.

  • perhaps she hadn't told her OH about the lunhc and was in same position.
  • perhaps she is a MN reader, and now hates me
foureleven · 05/07/2010 17:12

Hah ahow hilarious if she was...!

[aside - hey! a whole thread all about me! I feel like a celebrity.

dammit, I am a celebrity!

anyway that's enough about me - tell me: what do you think about me.

Sithmummy · 05/07/2010 17:14

Much more importantly, have you solved the problem of the too high table/low chairs?

Are you still sitting on a cushion?

booyhoo · 05/07/2010 17:16

what was the flimsy back up?

foureleven · 05/07/2010 17:18

Oh god, that is a terrible predicament... The table thing that is.

Can this be stubborn hubbys dedicated thread... lives and loves of stubbornhubby?

youre my favourite man on MN. Although you are a bit of a cock sometimes. I picture you as Hugh Grant in a 90s romcom, all good intentions and bumbling.

OP posts:
stubbornhubby · 05/07/2010 17:20

foureleven I like the way you are talking...

Sithmummy · 05/07/2010 17:26

The table, please?

DH was asking the other day. We need to know.

foureleven · 07/07/2010 09:58

stubbornhubby would you please behave yourself and come back and tell us what we need to know.

OP posts:
stubbornhubby · 07/07/2010 10:50

foureleven - I am putty in your hands.

very well then

  • the table is still there and still, obstinately too high.
  • I did prise a tile off the floor to see if I could pursue the four holes in the floor option... reinforced concrete.
  • broken tile stuck back down again. you'd hardly know

So I plan to return to the cut-a-little-bit-off-each-leg solution.

but higher up the list of my unfinished carpentry tasks: the construction of platform that will allow the cat to jump over the garden wall without leaving dirty paw marks half way up the wall. I started this last weekend trying to pull apart an old pallete that Mrs Stubborn thought had exactly the right sort of aged-wood for the platform. I turned the pallet on its side and started to lever off the planks with my hammer..
.. but the handle slipped off the hammer and the pallete fell on my foot.

So now I resting.

(@mumsnethq - of course I'm for real!)

Sithmummy · 07/07/2010 17:38

Thanks for the table up-date.

We are trying to buy some new dining chairs, but the ones DH likes are too low for the rest of us. Yes, the children will grow, as he says, but I won't. He suggested I sit on a telephone directory.

I'm tempted to buy the chairs that are the right height for us and possibly removing a couple of his vertebra somehow.

foureleven · 07/07/2010 18:20

Thank you stubborn hubby, any other account of hugh like catastrophies will be much appreciated
