To expect to be able to use an IKEA lamp when I get it home.

Bought for my dd birthday, no bloody plug on the stupid thing, just a pin which I should obviously plug into a transformer, only they don't mention the transformer when you buy the stupid object and OBVIOUSLY its going to cost more money. 30 mile round trip back to the shop.
It is cheaper for them to manufacture stuff for use Europe-wide but this is Britain so shouldn't it work here without extra, expensive bits and their pillow cases don't fit either.

Lighting from IKEA is a dead loss IMO. They don't wire up to a lot of UK light fittings, and you need their own bulbs which cost an arm and a bloody leg.

Cheaper to go to John Lewis.

YANBU.
