BIL has 2 dd's and is desperate for his new baby to be a boy, to get away from the Stagecoach, Polly pocket rara skirts shite.

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 01/07/2010 16:30

DH always gets the Look Of Respect when he has the two boys toddling behind him like ducks and DS3 due.... well, 8 days ago. I think he likes to think he has super man sperm or something

GetOrfMoiLand · 01/07/2010 16:31

Lol at the Look of Respect

overmydeadbody · 01/07/2010 16:33

My dad loved the fact that he had so many DDs and continually told us so and said how glad he was not to have a house full of boys.

verytellytubby · 01/07/2010 16:33

When we found out at the scan our DT's were boys, DH's chest puffed up and he started muttering about super sperm. Twat! It was all me.

EccentricaGallumbits · 01/07/2010 16:35

Dh simply yearns for boys. Poor chap feels all inadequate when standing waiting for the DDs in New Look.

slushy · 01/07/2010 16:36

This I find funny My SIL has serious issues with not having a girl so much so that she won't talk to me for having a girl .

She has two boys, her best friend has a dd and identical tin daughters that is all. Her friends dh says it would be nice to take someone to football. So SIL smuggly said to me (this was before she realized dc2 was a dd) it serves my friend right having three girls fancy trying for a third just to have a girl. I said she only tried for two and had twins . (She is no longer talking to that friend either)

Mingg · 01/07/2010 16:40

Verytelly, super sperm was mentioned in my house too

Fennel · 01/07/2010 16:47

my dp (father of 3 girls) insists he prefers girls, but our girls are very amenable to doing lego, kayaking, woodwork, electronics etc with him, if they all resisted all that I think he'd mind more.

He flaunts his super sperm in other ways though, he had a vasectomy which never totally worked, all our friends had them and were signed off as officially infertile after a few weeks. but several years post-vasectomy DP was still firing off too many sperm. so he is pretty puffed up on the super sperm count. they may be female but they won't be cut off....

not that I want him to have super-sperm. I have enough children. but he is proud of it.

moominmarvellous · 01/07/2010 16:55

Although a tongue in cheek OP, and I can't speak for all dads of course, but despite swearing the opposite, I think DH would secretly like a son at some point. I don't know about jealousy of a gang of boys, but one would definitely be nice.

TheCrackFox · 01/07/2010 16:55

Actually, my bother who is a father to the most loveliest girl I have ever met often sends my boys the most inappropriate presents imaginable. This being a typical example

In saying that I have completely spoilt his DD with girly tat.

TheLadyEvenstar · 01/07/2010 17:10

DP and I have 2 DS's he wants us to try for another but hopes this time is a DD - me I love boys!!!

pranma · 01/07/2010 17:56

actually 'super sperm' is more likely to produce dd's than ds's

traceybath · 01/07/2010 18:03

Before we had DD and just had the 2 ds's - DH would get lots of comments about how lucky he was. I would then get a sympathetic smile and enquiries as to if we were going to try for a girl .

And when I then had a girl - well you'd think I'd found a cure for cancer judging by people's reactions.

We don't have pink tat though as DD still little and her favourite toys are tractors.

pointydog · 01/07/2010 18:06

what shite is this?

Magalyxyz · 01/07/2010 18:10

I think you're probably right Most men want a son. There's nothing wrong with that imo. Although I know a guy with two girls and he's quite a gentle kind of person, classical musician and not into foot ball at all, he is glad he has two girls because he said any son at all would be more blokey than he was, and I know what he means. So I'm sure not every dad with daughters hankers after a son.

Magalyxyz · 01/07/2010 18:10

ps, forlornhope, good question! this thread was necessary really!

ShinyAndNew · 01/07/2010 18:13

I think DH is jealous of my sisters brood of boys. He certainly pays them a lot of attention when they are around here. But that might be, in part, due to their abnormally good behaviour, compared to our two feral girls.

He has said he would like a boy, but it's no big deal if I don't want to try again, because he is happy with what he has

Morloth · 01/07/2010 18:16

What is inappropriate about a nerf gun CrackFox? Are they too little - thanks for the link though!

azazello · 01/07/2010 18:21

DH was very thrilled when he found out DDC2 was a boy. He adores DD (who also adores him and indulges the lego/ woodwork etc as much as a 3yo can).

It was an answer to his mates from University who had gently implied that his sperm would only produce girls because he had turned his back on a scientific career.

I was also pleased as I will never be asked whether I've having any more.

TheCrackFox · 01/07/2010 18:21

I nearly lost an eye. My own fault for letting them play with it.

Wanderingsheep · 01/07/2010 18:25

Lol at Tongue in cheek response to other thread! I was just about to come on and say - "not another!"

Although just to add my two pennies worth, I don't think DP is jealous of other dads with boys. We have a DD who he adores and another DC on the way (we don't know the sex yet) and I think he is hoping it will be another girl!
