ds is down to 1 nap of about 1.5-2h.

today i feel sleep and not quite right so i'm sitting on the sofa, playing on mumsnet and watching tv.

i know there are things to do but i can't be bothered/ don't want to!

that's ok isn't it?

course it's ok.

you'll just have more to do tomorrow/this evening though!

purplehonesty · 01/07/2010 12:18

same here, DS asleep, lots I should be doing, but I find myself wandering the aisles of MN!

Buzzybb · 01/07/2010 12:18

MrsFlux are you not imparting wisdom, giving moral support and cheering up all of us who come on here looking for a friendly shoulder to cry on, an ear to moan to and clarity in our lives. That is so much more important then the mundane which will wait until tomorrow

lal123 · 01/07/2010 12:19

thanks minipie - you've just made me feel GREAT!!!

Mrsflux - no of course YANBU, with any luck the "things I should do but can't be bothered to" fairy will come to your house after she's been to mine

Buzzybb · 01/07/2010 12:19

OH I forgot enjoy your break, you know you deserve it

Pancakeflipper · 01/07/2010 12:21

Absolutely fine. Recharging the batteries time. I did the same last week. I had a shower, with facial mask and intense hair conditioner, exfoliated myself to death and slapped some fake tan after. I felt sooooo good I forgot my guilt about the ironing pile.

showmethemummy · 01/07/2010 12:21

er ...hm... dd1 at school, dd2 at nursery til 1:30, ,dd3 just gone down for (hopefully)2.5hrs nap. have just got back from brunch with cousin. lying on bed looking at mn. MANY MANY things to do.sigh. I know i'll pay the price later tho when all hell breaks loose around bedtime...

i blame the heat. just want to lie in front of fan

BornToFolk · 01/07/2010 12:23

It is useful to recharge your batteries!

I don't work on Fridays and DS still has a 2 hour nap. Once I've washed up the lunch things I park myself on the sofa and do nothing else until it's time to get him up.

MathsMadMummy · 01/07/2010 12:27

YANBU, I'm recovering from tonsillitis - first time I've been ill (other than colds) for years - so I'm taking it easy today, as I have to go out tomorrow and I'm really tired!

EVERYbody needs a break!

mind you I am being virtuous and snacking on celery! nom nom nom

mrsflux · 01/07/2010 12:28

oh i feel less guilty now! thanks ladies!

i did unload the dishwasher and my washing basket isn't full enough to warrant doing a load so the urgent things are done or not so urgent.

i'll be a more efficient housewife tomorrow! promise!

showmethemummy · 01/07/2010 12:33

how do you not have enough dirty washing to do a load? WOW. I could easily occupy two machines full time. ... ok maybe an exaggeration but still - how do you do it??

mrsflux · 01/07/2010 12:36

i was very good over the weekend and yesterday when off work doing 2 loads a day and getting it dried on the line.

i dont iron tho!

been a long time coming getting the basket down to reasonable level!

yanbu

this is what I (don't) do every day. You need a lunch hour too.

chiefcook · 01/07/2010 12:39

DS sleep time is my rest time, you've got to grab it when you can!

My solution to my ever increasing pile of ironing is to rest my feet on it while on MN!

But then again i fully support the idea messy house happy kids (stressed out mum!!)

Doodleydoo · 01/07/2010 12:40

YANBU - I am looking forward to a catch up of some recorded shows and a bit of a nap but then I am 34 weeks pg so am tired all the time!

lindsell · 01/07/2010 12:49

yanbu - I always tell myself I will do something useful during ds' naps (and so many things to do) but I always end up on the sofa with the laptop

minipie · 01/07/2010 17:54

sorry mrsflux! was trying to give myself a mental kick to stop procrastinating!

hope you enjoyed your break

mrsflux · 01/07/2010 19:49

minipie - you're right though! It's lucky dh came home in a good mood as he's getting on with the jobs now. I'm on sofa chilling.
Must try harder tomorrow!
