I have the day off work as lo was meant to be going on a nursery trip but nursery have cancelled it as not enough people willing to go.
SO as we dont have many family days (I work when dp home and dp works when I am at home) so we were thinking of taking her out and going out for the day instead.

But just wondered if nursery would see it as unreasonable.

Cant you do what you like? Why would the nursery think it was unreasonable?

diamondsandtiaras · 28/06/2010 08:11

I can't see why the nursery would think it unreasonable.......nursery isn't compulsory do you can do what you like AFAIK.

gingernutlover · 28/06/2010 08:12

is this a private nrusery which you pay for? Or is it a preschool where they are expected to go 5 days a week?

why would they think it was unreasonable do you think?

diamondsandtiaras · 28/06/2010 08:12

so you can do what you like

overmydeadbody · 28/06/2010 08:13

Of course nursery won't see it as unreasonable.

Nursery isn't compulsory.

PuppyMonkey · 28/06/2010 08:15

What's she gonna miss? Algebra?

Foxy800 · 28/06/2010 08:47

Cool, guess its just me worrying. She starts school in september so know I cant do it from then and just want to make the most of a day as a family.
She was really disappointed when the trip was cancelled so want to do something nice.

Gingernutlover, it is a private nursery but it is only mornings.

I dont think they would normally find it unreasonable, just dont want them to think we are being petty because the trip has been cancelled.

Will let them know when I take her in a bit.

cant see a problem with it

i only asked the type as my friend used to use a community sure start preschool who did get very funny if she missed a day

i would just explaint hat since you have a day booked off you are going to spend it together as a family, I do it sometimes with dd's nursery (she also starts school in sept)and they dont seem to mind

whoneedssleepanyway · 28/06/2010 08:55

YA definitely NBU, i have done this, nursery won't care, you will be paying for her session anyway i imagine even if she doesn't go in. have a fun day.

Foxy800 · 28/06/2010 08:57

definitley take her out!
In my daughters last year before school I would often take her up to my Mums for a long weekend missing the friday at a state nursery as I knew when she started school this would become difficult( and rightly so!)
enjoy your little girl before shes away from you all day and have a nice trip out they won't mind.

Foxy800 · 28/06/2010 11:58

Well have spoken to nursery and they are all up for it so Im off to enjoy the beach with my daughter and partner tomorrow. Cant wait.

Thank you for all your replies.
