Ex-H has the boys most Saturday nights. He went away last night with his BIL and had a good nights drinking till 6am. Tonight he was invited to a party, but first asked if I had plans to go out.

Now sometimes I do have them if he's invited out and I'm not, but this time I lied. I'm sitting with a takeaway, bottle of wine and looking forward to a nights kip when I told him I was out drinking.

I'm getting the boys at 3pm tomorrow because of the football instead of 6pm, and really wanted this overnight break.

Was IBU though? I know he's going to be miffed to have missed his friends party, especially as he'll think I have done it on purpose (dont like said friendship, but honestly this wasnt the factor, I just wanted a night in with wine and no kids so I can sleep soundly)

YANBU

It's your night off, it's irrelevant whether you're in or out.

YANBU he is the father if partying is more important than his kids then he needs a swift kick up the ass.

HouseofCrazy · 26/06/2010 21:49

Agree with LilQueenie.

YANBU... What sort of takeaway?

macdoodle · 26/06/2010 21:51

YANBU def, my XH is like this, ie will only "have" the DC if I am at work, kicks off if he has to "babysit" for any other reason, suffice to say he is a twat!

He's normally good, dont get me wrong, he has them nearly every Sunday 10-6 and most Saturday nights - I just felt like being selfish this weekend. Next weekend I am away so he's got them the whole 2 days and with all the travelling (and wine) it wont feel like a recharge IYSWIM so I wanted tonight. Glad I wasnt UR though.

and Belle - it was Pizza Hut. With chocolate cheesecake. And Nachos. And extra olives on the pizza, with sour cream dip.

YANBU - Exh has been on three holidays in the last 6 weeks, with his gf, who conveniently booked all trips on weekends ex was supposed to have DD. I had to work today, he lied about landing at 3am, I knew their flight details, saying he couldn't take her till lunch time because he needed his precious sleep!!!

Erm, so I have had DD six weeks in a row without a break have been very ill, depressed and run down, I wish I could just choose not to get up or not take care of her.

Good on you OP - they need to realise their responsibilities and don't give in next time. My ExH has a habit of trying to get out of seeing her.
